Info-graphic using data from Bank of America’s online portfolio tracker. It automatically categorizes all of your transactions, and seemed pretty accurate along the way. I have the dollar amount for all of those, and it’s eye-opening to think about how much you end up paying for something over a year. There is no way that it should cost me over a grand to have tv and internet. I spent less than half as much on gas. It even broke that ‘miscellaneous’ category down into little bits as well. Having those kind of tools online is a step in the right direction, but they all suffer from complicated user interfaces and lame visualization devices.
